ChatPC-4
The ChatPC-4 builds upon the features that have made previous versions of this product so valuable, but includes many new enhancements that make it even more useful and powerful. Among the enhancements are powerful new vocabulary options, increased ruggedness and many new features that increase the flexibility and ease of use of this product.
New Features for ChatPC-4
- More speech options. You know have the choice of the classic DecTalk voice synthesizer on the new multi-lingual Loquendo synthesizer.
- More ruggedized that ever. ChatPC-4 is made to withstand the busy and active lifestyle of an ambulatory individual. An industrial strength PocketPC is given a rubberdized outer covering to protect it from drops and make it easier to hold the device. The new case also includes an attachment for a wheelchair mounting plate, hooks for a carrying strap and a protective cover that doubles as a stand.
- More vocabulary options. Along with the phrase and sentence based vocabulary pages. Palmchat (a word based vocabulary) comes standard with each ChatPC.
- More Button Actions. Buttons can be made even more flexible with more buttons actions such as word morphology and additional navigation features.
- Enhanced DesktopChat Software. The companion DesktopChat software that allows the ChatPC files to be saved, maintained and edited on a computer has undergone several major revisions. The process of downloading files to the ChatPC has been streamlined. The process for importing photographs has been greatly enhanced.

Available in three models:
ChatPC-4
This is the model for individuals who primarily use symbols for communication. ChatPC-4 has all the features necessary to use and create vocabulary sets using symbols and photographs. ChatPC-4 also allows for spelling of words and phrases, but it does not include the writing enhancement features of the ChatPC-4+. The Chat PC-4 allows access to the Windows applications in the PocketPC operating system.
ChatPC-4+
The ChatPC-4+ is designed for individuals with existing or emerging literacy skills. In addition to all of the features of the ChatPC-4, this enhanced model includes a number of features that are designed to assist individuals who use spelling for coummunication. These features include:
- Word Prediction
- Letter Prediction
- Abbreviation/expansion
- Ability to edit and save text
ChatPC-D4+
ChatPC-D4+ is a special version of the ChatPC that includes enhanced warranty and service coverage. This model has special software loaded that prevents access to the PocketPC applications. Besides functioning as a dedicated communication device, ChatPC-D4+ offers these additional benefits:
- Contains all of the communication features of ChatPC-4+
- Enhanced service loaner program
- Includes carrying case
