Vanguard Plus
Vanguard Plus is a full sized, dynamic display communication aid featuring sythesized and digitized speech, computer emulation, and infrared environmental controls. It is an excellent option for both children beginning with AAC and adults with acquired disabilities.
The Vanguard Plus gives the user the option of all three language representation methods: single meaning pictures, spelling systems, and semantic compaction. Vanguard comes with both Unity 45 and Unity 84 programs preprogrammed in the device. You can select from integrated versions of Unity ranging from starter vocabularies of 150 words up to the full Unity program with 3,000 words. These Unity programs feature quick access to core vocabulary plus the unique Activity Row, spelling, and Page-based vocabularies.
The "Picture Prediction" feature in Vanguard actually "learns" the user's most common extended vocabulary choices and automatically arranges the Activity Row icons for the most convenient access to those words.
Expanded WordCore Program - WordCore 45 and 84 are included in each Vanguard. Thses word-based vocabulary systems can be used quickly by anyone who can read and spell. Adults with acquired disabilities will find WordCore to be a powerful communication tool that can be learned in a matter of minutes.

- Built-in player allows users to import WAV files and play MP3 files in stereo.
- Secure Digital (SD) card slot allows users to store notebook, music files, etc.
- USB slot enables connection of a USB flash drive.

- AirCard wireless phone capability enables the device to act as a mobile phone. AirCard inserts into device's PCMCIA slot to allow users to send and receive voice calls and text messages.
Headpointing Breakthrough
PRC has partnered with Madentec, a leader in headpointing systems, to introduce the first integrated headpointing solution. When you select the headpointing version of the Vanguard, the Madentec Tracker headpointing system is included in the device. With this built-in access option, the client needs only a reflective dot to access the Vanguard. For clients who use headpointing access, this innovation provides both savings and convenience of setup and operation.
