Your Road to Remission, Your Way

Our Diabetes Remission Program brings together medical expertise, nutrition, movement, sleep, and mental wellbeing into one coordinated approach.

The goal: to lower blood sugar, reduce medications, and help you reclaim the energy and freedom you thought was lost.

This isn’t just about numbers — it’s about getting your life back.

Why Diabetes Remission Is Possible

Type 2 diabetes doesn’t have to be permanent. Research shows that with the right care and support, many people are able to return their blood sugar to a healthy range and even achieve remission.

Our Program Focus

The Aroga Diabetes Remission Program is designed to reduce excess fat, increase lean muscle, and improve blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure. These measurable changes are what drive long-term remission and help you feel stronger, healthier, and more energized.

What makes Aroga different:

Unlike most clinics that focus only on prescriptions, we go deeper:

We track labs (A1C, fasting glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure) and body composition (BCA) so you see progress that matters.

Beyond blood sugar, we support sleep, stress, movement, nutrition, and mental wellbeing.

Doctors, dietitians, exercise specialists, and counselors collaborate for you.

Choose group sessions for connection and accountability, or one-on-one support for personalized care.

This isn’t a quick fix. It’s a path to long-term remission, community, and confidence.

Who This Program Is For

This program is designed for people who:
  • Have type 2 diabetes or prediabetes and want more than “just managing it.”

  • Are motivated to make changes in nutrition, movement, sleep, or stress — but want expert guidance.

  • Want to lower (or even come off) some medications with physician oversight.

  • Prefer a personalized plan that fits their lifestyle, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Wherever you’re starting, our team will meet you there.

Comprehensive Assessment

We begin with a complete health baseline, including:

  • Bloodwork: A1C, fasting glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol
  • Screenings: kidney and liver function, thyroid, hormone health, gout, dyslipidemia
  • Body Composition Analysis (BCA): A simple, non-invasive scan that tracks muscle, fat, and hydration to guide your personalized plan.
Most adults with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes are eligible to join. If you’ve had diabetes for many years or have complications, our medical team will tailor the program to ensure it’s safe and effective for you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Still have questions about Aroga, our Diabetes Remission Program ?

Yes, for many people. Research shows that with the right lifestyle and medical support, blood sugar can return to a healthy range and stay there without the need for diabetes medications. At Aroga, we call this remission. It’s not a cure, but it is a powerful way to take back control of your health.

Every person is different, but many patients begin noticing changes in energy, weight, and blood sugar markers within the first few months of our program. We typically re-measure A1C at three-month intervals to track progress. Long-term remission depends on building sustainable habits — which is why we provide ongoing support after the program ends.

No. Our program focuses on balanced nutrition, not extreme diets. You’ll learn how to enjoy foods you love in a way that supports blood sugar control, muscle health, and long-term energy.

Even if you’ve lived with type 2 diabetes for a long time, remission is still possible. The key is a structured plan and team-based care that goes beyond prescriptions to address nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress.

Some diabetes medications — such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin — can often be safely reduced or stopped as patients progress in our program. This is always done under the guidance of our medical team, and any treatment changes are personalized based on your unique progress, lab results, and health goals. Never change your medications without medical direction

You don’t need to spend hours at the gym. Our exercise specialists design a personalized plan based on your current fitness level. Even small, consistent changes in movement can have a big impact on blood sugar, blood pressure, and energy.

We begin with a comprehensive assessment:

  • Bloodwork (A1C, fasting glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides, kidney/liver, thyroid, and more).
  • Body composition analysis (BCA) to measure fat and muscle.
  • A specialist physician consult.
This baseline gives us a clear starting point to track your remission journey.

This program is available in British Columbia and Ontario. In BC and ON, core services are covered by MSP and OHIP respectively.

At the end, you’ll receive a plan with clear next steps for sustaining remission. You can also choose to continue to work with our dietitians,  exercise therapist, or clinical counselors depending on your needs.

That’s okay. You don’t need to be perfect to start. Our team meets you where you are and helps you build small, realistic changes. Over time, these steps add up to measurable results in blood sugar, weight, energy, and overall wellbeing.
